Around sometime back we released a list of smartphones under Rs. 10,000 we thought were fit for the title for the best value for money but a lot of phones were left out just because they were a little over the budget. So, this time around the stakes have been increased and the budget set to Rs. 20,000. Here is the list of 5 Best Smartphones under Rs. 20,000.

Huawei Honor 6X (Grey, 32GB) – Rs. 10,999
Huawei has been a company with extensive presence in the market. It recently released the Honor 6X which caught the attention of many people including ours. The 6X is comparatively cheaper than its competitors and still manages to offer quite a few features.
To begin with, the phone offers a 5.5 inch Full HD display with an LCD LTPS back panel with a resolution of 1920X1080. This is something that we really liked as even in our previous article most of the phones we saw only offered display quality only up to HD (720P). The screen has 403 PPI pixel density and 16M colour support.
Coming to the cameras we love how Huawei took a slightly different approach. The rear camera is a combination of two 12+2 MP lenses that serve as one. The camera also has Auto Focus and Image Stabilisation. The front camera is of 8MP which is again very decent and comes with PDAF Focusing.
Under the hood, hardware contains a 2.1GHz + 1.7GHz Kirin 655 octa-core processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB memory which is expandable up till 128 GB and dual sim capability with VOLTE support. The battery comes with a capacity of 3340 mAh which is decent but in order to combat the slight low juice, Huawei has also enabled fast charging which uses a 5V/2A port to quickly power the phone up. The fingerprint sensor is at the back of the phone for easy use.
If you don’t mind throwing in an extra thousand for a phone after our previous list then surely go for this one. However, people whose thirst is still not quenched carry on reading.

Lenovo Z2 Plus – Rs. 14,999
Looking at Lenovo’s K6 Power we were pretty impressed, to say the least. Lenovo further decided to dump a little more money and came up with the Z2 Plus. The Z2 Plus offers its own unique features that set the phone aside from other models.
The Z2 comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor which has 4 custom Kyro cores. What this essentially means is that the Z2 Plus is able to use the cores from its CPU, GPU and SOC (System on Chip) and give the performance which wasn’t possible before. This is a major step up in mobile computing as this takes things to a whole new level. The clock speed on the 820 is 2.15 GHz and 4GB RAM has also been installed so that it works with the processor. The memory remains 64GB with expandable opportunities.
The camera section is where Lenovo has worked its magic, just like Huawei except they took a different approach. The Z2 Plus has a 13MP large pixel (1.34µm) primary camera with Hybrid autofocus technology. Furthermore, the phone has the capability to shoot and record in 4K resolution! Hold it we aren’t finished yet. The rear camera can also record Slow Motion (120FPS) and Time-Lapse with other features like filters and HDR Mode. The front camera is 8MP but interestingly enough also comes with a large pixel. This department holds a direct threat to the Honor 6X as Lenovo took the camera and elevated it a few steps up.
To support the camera, we have a Full HD 5-inch capacitive touchscreen with 441 PPI pixel density and a 3500 mAh high-density battery to power it all. Even the fingerprint sensor has a new feature called the U-Touch 2.0 which enables it to be used as a sensor and a capacitive button at the same time. Lenovo really has something here. The Z2 Plus is truly a step up from the K6 Power.

Moto G5 Plus (Gold, 32 GB) (4 GB RAM) – Rs. 15,999
We go to the G5 Plus which along with its little brother the G5 has made a lot of news. The Moto G5 is the power-packed version of the G5. Both phones were launched very recently but for this list, we will focus on the G5 Plus as we are looking for straight up performance.
The G5 Plus comes with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 Octa Core processor along with 4GB of RAM. The newest addition of 625 by Qualcomm primarily focuses on improving the battery life of smartphones as this processor has a lower demand for power by around 35% so you can expect some decent battery life out of the G5 Plus. The storage offered is 32GB which is fairly low comparing it today’s standards but thankfully can be expanded till 128GB.
It must be the year of the Camera as even Moto took special initiative to make sure the photos clicked from the G5 Plus are right on point. The phone has a 12MP camera which uses Dual Autofocus Pixels which help capture more of the action. The flash technology also has colour balancing dual LEDS which throw more light as well as large 8X zoom for photos and 4X zoom for videos. The secondary camera is of 5MP which falls a little short but it is also fitted with a wide-angle lens and comes with staple beauty modes.
The display size is 5.2 Inch with Full HD capability with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The battery is quite low in capacity with only 3000 mAh powering the phone. However, since this is a Moto phone, you can enjoy the goodness of Turbo Charging that comes along with the G5 Plus. The fingerprint sensor on the phone is at the front and is accurate when it comes to protection. Another solid contender in the smartphone market.

Moto M (Silver, 64 GB) (4 GB RAM) – Rs. 15,999
Behold another wonderful phone from Moto but with slight differences. The Moto M is a little older than the G5 Plus but has power all the same.
Instead of going with Qualcomm in this phone, Moto partnered up with MediaTek and as a result, the M contains a MediaTek Helio P15 64-bit Processor. Compared to Snapdragon, MediaTek doesn’t focus on battery as much as it focuses on performance. To further boost the Octa Core processor and its 2.2 GHz clock speed, 4GB RAM has been added.
The 5.5 Inch Full HD IPS Display along with the MALI T860 GPU gives the phone enough power and beauty to run games and 3D applications easily. Corning Gorilla Glass protection has also been added so that the display doesn’t break when dropped. The internal storage compared to the G5 Plus is better as 64 GB is being provided which can be expanded. The fingerprint sensor is at the back of the phone just below the rear camera just like the 6X.
The primary camera is of 16MP and comes with a host of features such as Auto Focus, HDR, Panorama etc. The secondary camera is 8MP which comes with a large pixel that captures more of your pretty face. Dual led Flash at the back is also present. The battery is again short as only 3050 mAh is provided but the M also comes with turbocharging just like the G5 Plus. Moto M has a lot of discounts and offers right now so if you prefer to not spend as much then go grab it from Flipkart right now.

Xiaomi Mi Max Prime (Gold, 128GB) – Rs. 19,999
It is not possible that value for money smartphones are mentioned and Mi isn’t on the list. Mi has taken the entire market in its hands by its simultaneous release of efficient power packed phones and the Max Prime is no exception.
Mi Prime is a phone for users who like their screens big. And we mean Big! The phone comes with a display size of 6.44 inches! The screen is Full HD and has Mi’s special 2D curved glass technology and 342 PPI pixel density.
In the speed area, the Max Prime has a Qualcomm 625 octa-core processor (1.8GHz ARM Cortex A72 + ARM Cortex A53) along with 4GB RAM and a massive 128GB internal storage which is further expandable till 258GB! Mi sure knows the meaning of the word Max as this phone surely is buff!
Even the battery isn’t an exception here as the Max Prime comes with a battery of 4850mAH which is actually very necessary seeing as how much power the phone must pull. The 16MP rear camera has Auto Focus, two-tone flash, slow motion and has capabilities to record in HD. The front camera is of 5MP.
The Mi Max Prime comes right at the edge of our Rs.20,000 budget but it surely has justification for that. Mi has a reputation for releasing smartphones that leave people in awe and they have done it once again with the Mi Max Prime. If you like to have things in excess go for this one!
