Nokia-3310-Gadgetadda

Nokia, the name that most of us associate with our first phone and the mere mention of Nokia still gives us goosebumps. As we all know Nokia is back with full force. Though it plans to launch a number of smartphones and phones, the iconic Nokia 3310 is the first phone to be available in India since May 18. There is a lot of nostalgia around this phone owing to its cult status. Its price is Rs 3310. 3310 at 3310. Cool? eh..

Let’s have a look at what Nokia 3310 has to offer:

  • 4” QVGA screen with polarization filter
  • 2G GSM 900/1800 MHz
  • Series 30+ OS
  • 16 MB memory expandable to 32 GB
  • FM radio, MP3 player
  • 2MP with LED flash, no front camera
  • 1200 mAh battery
  • Bluetooth 3.0, USB 2.0
  • Available in bright and colorful combinations

So as we see that the phone has nothing that stands out. Earlier owning a feature phone was justified because of its amazing battery life but now a days there are many smartphones with massive batteries and excellent endurance. So this too doesn’t hold now. Not to mention the slowish 2G Internet.

Let’s have a look at what you can get for Rs 3500.

  1. Lyf Flyme 7 (Rs 3499 at Flipkart)

    • Dual sim, 4G support
    • 4 inch display
    • 1750 mah battery
    • 5 MP / 2 MP
    • 1 GB RAM, 8 GB memory
    • 2 years warranty
  1. Swipe Elite Star 4G (Rs 3999 Flipkart)

So it can be observed that Rs 3500 is not as not cheap as it sounds and you can get a decent smartphone for this price . Heck, some have even 4G VoLTE to let you enjoy cheap and fast Internet and free unlimited calls. So you will be missing a lot. If the year was 2010, this would have been class leading specs. But the year is 2017 and the world today is ruled by smart technologies. And 3310 is neither smart nor cheap. If you want to buy this only because it’s a Nokia, wait for Nokia 3,5 or 6 to be available in India and you will be more than happy. Those who feel that not buying this phone will lessen their loyalty towards Nokia should go ahead and buy this. By the way, it’s HMD Global.
