In our earlier speculative article on the CES 2015, we wrote about a lot of hot rumors and leaks. But almost a month has elapsed since the original write up and we’re just 4 days short of the actual event. This means a lot of fresh news and lots of earlier ones being a thing of the past, or let us say, a little ahead of their actual time.
Past Rumors that are now amusingly a past for the CES 2015
- Samsung has already announced that there will be no surprise shows at CES this year, so flamboyant rumors of curved screen Tablets and ground breaking new flagship phones can be dismissed for the time being
- HTC also have made no major announcements regarding its new flagship the HTC “M9” making us think the phone will only debut during the mobile world congress event
- Valve has confirmed that it won’t be attending CES 2015, although it pains me to say this, all the rumors and speculations regarding the steam machines and valve devices can be dismissed
So what to actually expect there?
Now that CES 2015 is round the corner, the rumors have been getting more and more concrete, let’s see the major announcements and the hardened leaks that are out flying over the internet.
Ultrabooks were the titans of the Notebook industry, offering a perfect blend of productivity, portability and versatility within their frames, Samsung has plans of revolutionizing the Ultrabook concept with the new Ativ Book 9, also called the Book Blade 9.
The Book Blade 9 is the latest in the company’s Series 9 High End laptops and is the very first device to be powered by the latest generation Intel Core M processor, which allows devices to go fan less while maintaining battery life and performance. Without a fan, devices such as laptops can feature smaller, thinner and sleeker designs. The entry version of the Book Blade 9 has a 12.2-inch WQXGA LED display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels , with a 128 GB SSD for storage and 4 GB of RAM, and will be priced at $1,199.99
Also Scheduled for launch is the Ativ One 7 All-in-one Curved PC, which has a 27 inch curved display, the very first for an AIO PC, which has a resolution of 1,920 x 1080. The other configurations are similar to the AIO PC’s in the market, like a core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, a 1 TB hard drive, and the 64-bit version of Windows 8.1
Samsung will also be giving a glimpse of its Tizen Operating system to the world, buy introducing Smart TV’s powered by the much anticipated OS. This is a step forward with Samsung’s IoT or the Internet of things policy of having almost every electronic device interconnected with each other. There is not much information in terms of pricing or release dates, but there are very high chances of it being introduced during CES 2015.
Sony recently released a teaser trailer of what to expect from CES 2015.The trailer is titled “Welcome to the New World,” and alludes to a new flagship Smartphone. The trailer showed a thin streamlined device and a girl eating a lollipop leading to speculations that Sony might just the new android lollipop powered flagship Xperia Z4 during the CES Expo. There are also speculations that the trailer is instead for an Android powered television.
Sony also has plans to make 4k displays a thing of the past by introducing new 8K UHD display TV’s at the CES 2015, Again not much information is available at this point, we are sure to expect 8k devices from Sony at CES 2015.
The South Korean tech giant recently airlifted its 8K display, code-named ‘Mabinogion’, to Las Vegas in preparation for the CES 2015 trade show. The 55-inch 8K display bears a resolution of 7,680 x 4,320 pixels (that’s 33.2 million pixels total), with over 20 display driver integrated circuits installed. Reports also state that LG will introduce its Art Slim series for LCD panels at the event. The 55-inch and 65-inch televisions will be 7.5mm and 8.2mm thick, respectively, representing some of the slimmest TVs on the market. They’ll also weigh at least 25% less than most TVs of the same size.
The South Korean company on Wednesday announced that the company will showcase its new 21:9 Ultra Wide Gaming monitor lineup at the CES 2015 which is supposed to be the world’s first Ultra Wide monitor compatible with AMD FreeSync technology. AMD FreeSync technology is an innovative monitor technology, based on free and open industry standards, to eliminate the tearing and stuttering that has plagued PC gaming for 30 years.
At CES 2015, the company will showcase its first curved 34-inch UltraWide (21:9) monitor (Model 34UC97) with Quad-HD resolution (3440×1440 pixels). The LG G flex 2 is also rumored to be unveiled at the CES 2015, which is supposed to feature the new 64 bit snapdragon 810 octa core processor.
HTC recently posted a teaser image with the tag “Always Desire more.” Leading to speculation that HTC is going to launch a new desire Smartphone during CES 2015. But with a string of new desire releases in the past couple of months, including the Desire EYE and the Desire 820, it would be “desirous” of us to know what more does HTC have in store for us. HTC officials are already touting their 2015 lineup as their best ever, and we seem to have no doubts about that!
Asus revealed that its CES 2015 press conference will take place on January 5, with a live streaming of the event on its website with the tag line” experience 2morrow”. We have confirmed news that ASUS is going to launch its latest series of handsets At CES 2015, having display sizes ranging from 5 to 5.5 inches and all of them will be powered by Intel processors there are rumors of a dual LED flash for the camera along with a host of other sensors for depth perception and sharper images. The phones will be priced around 300$
