Google made it very easy to do currency conversions right from its search box. With the rising popularity of the Bitcoin currency, the search engine giant now supports currency conversion for Bitcoin as well.

We typed ‘1 Bitcoin in USD’ in the Google search box and it showed the conversion result in a Google card as it does for a regular currency. What more? You also get to see the archival data which dates back to 2011. The conversion rates may not be real time and Bitcoin warns its investors about the same.

Google spokesperson told Bitcoin’s news site CoinDesk, “you can also ask Google to do conversions – if you have the Google Search app on your smartphone, for example, ask it, ‘How many bitcoin are in 500 U.S. dollars?’ and you’ll get the answer in a handy conversion tool.”

Google Finance teamed up with CoinBase last month to offer a more in-depth Bitcoin tracking tool and now Google has partnered with it to fetch the data.
