Redmi, Xiaomi’s sub-brand, launched Redmi Earbuds S True Wireless earphones on Tuesday at a very economical price of Rs. 1799. The new earphones are same as the Redmi AirDots S that were launched in China last month. Coming in a pill-shaped case, Redmi Earbuds S are more compact than the recently launched Realme Buds Air Neo.
Redmi Earbuds S Features, Specifications
Powered by Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, Redmi Earbuds S provide 12 hours of playback time with the charging case. The earphones are IPX4 splash resistant. We are glad Redmi did not go on the design lines of Apple Airpods and rather went more towards Galaxy Buds-like design.
Redmi Earbuds S offer multi-touch buttons for functions like answering/rejecting calls and to play/pause music. There is also an option to launch the gaming mode wherein a double tap reduces the audio lag while gaming. Gamers around the globe still prefer using wired earphones while gaming in order to let go off the latency factor. However, with these new TWS earphones, Xiaomi claims a latency of as low as 122ms.
Another function of the buttons is to activate the personal assistant. The functions of these buttons can be customized as per your needs.
Redmi Earbuds S Price, Availability
Priced at Rs. 1799, Redmi Earbuds S are priced cheaper than we were expecting. The Redmi Earbuds S is now available on Mi.com, Mi Home and Amazon. Earlier this month, Xiaomi launched Mi 10 5G in India with 108MP primary camera sensor.
At the mentioned price, we shouldn’t be expecting a premium experience and these shouldn’t be compared with the Apple AirPods, Galaxy Buds Plus and Google Buds. While the company claims excellent performance, we would only be able to give our take after we get to try them out.
