Known for pioneering in fast storage devices like pen drives, HDDs and SDDs, SanDisk recently released a very compact pen drive called SanDisk Ultra Fit USB 3.1 Flash Drive. The very compact high-speed USB storage device comes a storage capacity upto 256GB. We got to spend time time with the 64GB variant of the device and here’s our take on the same.
SanDisk UltraFit USB 3.1 flash drive looks more like that receiver you have for wireless mouse and keyboards. Being super compact in size, you might as well fear losing it easily. However, the size makes it super convenient to carry and you could even let it remain in the USB port and put the laptop back into the bag. Moreover, you can also put into a keychain. That is one thing which is really impressive. The pen drive is made of a high-quality plastic and can easily withstand the accidental drops.
The SandDisk Ultra Fit USB 3.1 flash drive is claimed to offer speeds upto 130 MB/s which is 15 times faster if you compare to those of the USB 2.0 standard. On performing the CrystalDiskMark tests, the maximum read and write speeds were 143.5 MB/s and 54.48 MB/s respectively which left me quite impressed. So you can definitely transfer big files without any issues with the kind of speeds that are shown here.
The SanDisk Ultra Fit USB 3.1 flash drive supports Windows OS, macOS, Android OS, and Linux. We did format the pen drive to APFS (Apple File System), and it worked without any hassles. You can also connect the SanDisk Ultra Fit flash drive to an Android smartphone or a tablet using a dongle (USB type C to USB type-A) or (micro USB to USB type-A).
The SanDisk Ultra Fit USB 3.1 flash drive 64GB is available at a price of Rs. 1033 on Amazon India. The price is fairly justified considering the ultra-high read and write speeds that come along with it. I would definitely recommend this to you if you are looking to carry some storage all the time and which also allows you to transfer big files at high speeds.
