Apple announced the price slash for the Apple Watch in the March 21 event at its campus. The Apple Watch price cut in India has resulted in the Sport(38mm) model now being priced at Rs. 25,900 instead of Rs. 30,900 as it was earlier. With attempts to make Apple Watch less expensive to purchase, Apple announced $50 cut on the Sports variant of the Apple Watch. The wearable is currently available in Sport, Watch and Watch Edition variants. Having said that about the Sports model, there is no word yet for any price cut on the other variants.
As per Apple India, the price slash is effective immediately and across all retailers around the country.
Apple Watch was launched in India in November last year with the Sport(38mm) model priced at Rs. 30,900 whereas the Sport(42mm) was priced at Rs. 35,900. At the March 21 event, it was also announced that iPad Air 2 would also get a price cut of $100. However, no such announced specifically for India as of now.
The price cut is surely bound to attract more consumers towards the wearable. The Apple Watch got even powerful with the launch of watchOS 2 software update, adding support for native apps, activation lock and a bunch of under the hood improvements. At the iPhone SE event, Apple also released the watch OS 2.2 update which would allow users to pair multiple Apple Watches to a single iPhone and a lot of other enhancements.
Talking about the bands, Apple also announced the launch of woven nylon bands for the Apple Watch. The bands will soon be available at the Apple Stores across the globe.
