Apple watch was made available in US in April earlier this year took more than 6 months to be launched in India, the reason could be the low prices for all other wearable in India where Apple has been placed with a bit high price tag. The wearable market in India is still in the nascent age and people would take time to perceive this higher price. For all the other launches and announcements including that for Apple iPhone Apple has started focusing on the emerging markets like India, thereby reducing the time lag in the launch compared to other countries like US, Canada.
Canalys recently published a report that Apple has shipped almost 7 Million smartwatches since its launch which is much more than Samsung’s 300,000 sales in quarter. And the launch in India could be another breakthrough for the company if people perceive the product in the way company wants them to, as Samsung could not impress the Indian consumers and get hold of the wearable market with its wearable devices.
