The HTC One M9
The HTC One (M7) and its successor, the M8 were some of the best flagship devices ever made, active from the years 2013 – 2014. A report from China hints that the next HTC flagship device (most probably to be named the M9 unless HTC wants to start an entirely new range) will sport a 5.5 inch 2K Quad HD resolution of 2560 X 1440 pixels (534 PPI) It is also reported to come sporting a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor with 3 Gigabytes of RAM.
HTC devices have always been known for their exceptional music and sound quality. Now that Apple has taken over HTC’s former audio partner, Beats Audio, it is rumored to pair up with Bose Audio. I’m just waiting for the bass drop on Animals by Martin Garrix. The camera on the M9 is reportedly a 16MP unit with optical stabilization, that is way better than the one on the M8 which had a 4MP camera. Thankfully, the company might be finally doing away with the Ultra-Pixel camera lens.
Lastly, as in all the other previous HTC One models, the device will have an aluminum body and a rumored 3,500mAH battery. The device will also run Android Lollipop. In the pricing area, the M8 is already a very pricey phone. The M9 is rumored to be even more expensive, i.e. north of 52K. In India, people might just buy the M8 if prices fall. So HTC needs to look into how the phone might be feasible for all the people in the market.
Reportedly, the M8 would have sold more devices if it had been launched earlier than the Galaxy S5 and the iPhone 5S. So aiming for that too, HTC is launching it just in time with Samsung’s release of the S6. The phone is said to be out in the first quarter of 2015 and to reach India within 2 weeks of global unveiling.
