China has got the most number of iPhone copies than any other phones but still China has been one of the key focus for Apple for a long time now. In the recent earnings call company has attributed the strong quarter growth to the increase in sales of iPhone in China as a matter of fact China forms one fifth of the total sales of Apple around the world. According to a report by 9to5mac Apple had planned a few retails stores in Chongqing region as well as Shenyang and Central Hangzhou later this year. And today the company website listed hiring for positions in Tianjin, Wuxi, and Zhengzhou which adds on to the list of the above mentioned three locations.
Tim Cook has plans of opening double the number of stores the company has in China as of now over the next two years, and to mention exactly the company had 13 stores in China at the time of Q2 earnings call this year. And with new retail head Angela Ahrendts Apple plans for 20 new stores through 2016 including 4 that will be opened in a next few months.
I hope the opening of many new Apple retail stores in China would help them increasing the number of iPhone sales and decreasing the number of sales of its copies. If you have anything to add to this story use the comment section below.
