We all know that Samsung Galaxy S5 didn’t stand up to the expectations. Moreover, it’s not even near the success Samsung achieved with S4 last year. Fortunately, Samsung is reportedly planning to launch a superior version of S5 with the name Samsung Galaxy F. The device is not a secret at all, courtesy of numerous rumours relating to the design and specifications.
The device, which was earlier named as Galaxy S5 prime, has been in rumours for quite a time now. The first and the most interesting one was about the design. After highly criticised Leather back found on S5, the premium version (Galaxy F) was strongly rumoured to boast a metal body design. Ofcourse, plastic is not that bad but the brushed metal plastic seen in LG G3 always gives a better feel than the leather one. Apart from the design, Galaxy F is expected to be superior to S5 when specifications are concerned.
Gradually the specifications started pouring in and some of them were strongly believed to be true. One of them being that the new device will be backed by a slightly larger 5.3 inches QHD display with 2K (2560 x 1440) pixel resolution. Also, it may feature the next generation Snapdragon 805 chipset with 3GB of RAM. A 16 mega-pixel rear facing Camera (with OIS) and an advance LTE support are also in the list.
Moreover, last week @evleaks posted a press render image of the suspected device in the white colour variant. “Another alleged image of the supposed Samsung Galaxy F,” – the tweet said.
Yesterday, a couple of more images were leaked by unknown tipster which are actual photographs of the device. The images are not authentic, so take them with a pinch of salt.
From the images, the device looks pretty similar to the S5 in terms of the overall design. The only difference noticeable is the back, which maybe metal or could be just plastic with a metal finish. On the front we see the Galaxy F logo with ‘powered by Android’ which has been now made compulsory for all the smartphones.
In addition to that, the Galaxy F is reported to launch in September despite earlier rumours suggesting the launch to take place in Samsung Premiere 2014 which will unveil the new Galaxy Tab S Slates.
