Entering into the market of wearable devices, LG released Lifeband touch in US last month and the same is expected to reach the European and Asian markets in the coming weeks. The device will soon be available in India too.
Lifeband Touch is priced at $150 in the U.S. and is LG’s latest entrant in the wearbale market. The device came just ahead of HTC’s announcement of HTC One Wear wearable and lon-time rumoured Apple’s iWatch. LG is now in competition with its country counterpart Samsung who is already selling its Gear Fit and Gear 2 devices in the market.
The specifications of LG Lifeband Touch highlight two variants: 6.5-inch and 7.1-inch. The device is aimed at keeping a track of user’s calories burnout and other fitness-related stuff. The good part here is that it is compatible with Apple iPhones, iPads and Google Android phones and tablets, including LG G Flex and LG G2, which can be synced through the LG Fitness app. It also features music controls, a 3-axis accelerometer to measure forward, backward and sideways exercises and an OLED display. Lifeband Touch also monitors heart rate and is a rechargeable device that lasts 2-3 days with Bluetooth connectivity.
Apps like RunKeeper and MyFitnessPal are compatible with the device.
