With the launch of Xolo Q600s on Sunday, we can now say that we have three contenders for the Budget Smartphone battle; Motorola’s Moto E, Micromax’s Unite 2 and the new Xolo Q600s. But before the comparison first let’s take a look at the new device from Xolo.

Since its inception over a year ago, Xolo has offered some really impressive devices targeted towards the budget smartphone segment. With Xolo Q600s, it’s kind of another go but this time around they have some stiff competition in the budget segment offered largely by the Moto E and the Unite 2. When we look at the specifications, the Q600s comes with a 4.5 inch (960×540 pixels) qHD IPS display with OGS (one glass solution) and full lamination for smooth touch experience. Further, the device is powered by a 1.2 Ghz Broadcom Quad-Core processor coupled with 1 GB of RAM. It comes with a 4GB internal Storage which can be expanded by a microSD card. A 5 megapixel rear-facing Camera with a front-facing VGA camera is what we get for the photography. And for the battery, the smartphone is powered by a 2000 mAh which can provide upto 400 hours of Standby, 11 hour of Talktime and 47.6 hours of music playback.

Xolo Q600s is launched at the price of Rs. 8499. Well, one might say that price is where Xolo Q600s misses out but not by much as Snapdeal is offering an exclusive price of Rs. 7499 for the device till June 5th.

Conclusion

Well, it’s really tight among these three. While Moto E has a better display and Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, the other two has a Quad-Core processor compared to Dual-Core in Moto E. Also, Moto E has a slightly smaller battery and lacks the ability to record HD (720p) video. But when you talk about reliability and brand value, Moto E is the obvious choice with Micromax Unite 2 as the next option. Moreover, you have more chances to get updates in case Moto E as Motorola has been really quick in providing android updates. Another thing worth mentioning is the Availability; While Moto E is only available through Flipkart, Micromax’s Unite 2 and Xolo’s Q600s will be soon available in local markets.

Which one would you choose among these three?
