As per the sources in touch with Variety, YouTube looks all set to acquire Twitch, a live-streaming website, for $1 billion cash. The deal is expect to be announced soon adn will be YouTube’s largest acquisition since its acquisition by Google in 2006.
When it comes to live streaming of e-sports and video games, Twitch is one of the biggest players. With a whopping 45 million users a month and 1 million active uploaders, Twitch has been doing really well, thanks to the gamers using Twitch to live stream their gameplay using PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
YouTube already deals in live-streaming service at this point of time, which although has not been much of a success as compared to Twitch. There has been no official words on the deal and there has been no comments made by either of the companies.
