Twitter went public with a whopping 244 million monthly active users. However, a social media tracking site, Twopcharts, has come out to a conclusion that 44 percent of Twitter users haven’t even tweeted even once. Also, 30 percent of the existing counts have tweeted less than 10 times. Moreover, only 13 percent of the registered users have over 100 tweets to their name.
According to Twopchart’s report, approximately 542.1 million users have tweeted atleast once since their joining on Twitter. To a surprise, tweets have been sent out by only 23 percent accounts in the last 30 days. According to Twitter, a user is a monthly active user if he/she has logged in to their respective account atleast once in a month. However, Twopchart was unable to track if a user has logged in or not.
One of the previous reports stated that out of the 20 million new accounts created each month on Twitter, only 40 percent of them tweeted in the first month of signing up. With a design change, Twitter is looking to keep a user further engaged by moving to more photo-heavy layout like Facebook.
